Born in Romania, Andreea modelled on-and-off for years before becoming a fixture on major runways, appearing on a slew of international Vogue covers, and landing major ad campaigns. “I think if this ecosystem collapses, we will collapse with it. We need to be mindful that what gave us life can take it away.” »

Simon Nessman

Raised in British Columbia, Simon developed a strong connection to the ocean at a young age. After pursuing a modelling career in NYC, Simon moved back to BC, earning his Bachelor of Arts and Science in Ecology while living on a sailboat. Following graduation, Simon opened the Cedar Coast Field Station in Clayoquot Sound—a marine-based ecological research and education society devoted to preserving ecological health.

“This is not something where we need to save the ocean for its own sake; we need to save the ocean for our own sake.” »

“An estimated 8 million tonnes of plastic leaks into our marine ecosystems from land-based sources every single year. That is the equivalent of a garbage truck dumping waste into our oceans every minute.” »
